Serart vznikl jako spolupráce mezi folkovým multi-instrumentalistou původem z Arménie jménem Arto Tunçboyacıyan a zpěvákem skupiny System of a down Serjem Tankianem. Album je směsicí experimentálních multikulturních melodií tzv. world music.
