Založen byl v roce 1873. V roce 1896 se Trinity stalo členem profesionální Football League, jejím členem bylo až do jeho vyloučení v roce 1912. Od sezóny 2018/19 hraje v Northern Premier League Premier Division (7. nejvyšší soutěž). Klubové barvy jsou modrá a bílá.
Své domácí zápasy odehrává na stadionu The Northolme s kapacitou 4 340 diváků.
