Albert FloresXVII. Mistrovství světa jezdců a 9. ročník poháru konstruktérů zahájila 22. května Grand Prix Monaka a po 9 závodech 23. října při Grand Prix Mexika byl znám nový mistr světa. Mistrem světa pro rok 1966 se stal Jack Brabham a v Poháru konstruktérů zvítězil Brabham.
